Welcome to FACES

Thank you for visiting the FACES website, where we hope to provide you with insight into our mission and the projects we undertake in developing countries. FACES is a registered voluntary organisation, VO/0151, set up in Malta in February 2003.  As an organisation, we aim to better the quality of life of individuals who due to poverty, displacement and other adverse situations are unable to access vital services such as health care and education. Through the provision of these services we aim to supply these underprivileged individuals with the opportunities necessary to realise their potential as human beings

Our Current Projects

FACES is currently running 2 projects in different parts of the world namely Nakuru, Kenya and Buza, Tanzania.

In Nakuru, Kenya, FACES funded the building of a new home (St. Gorg Preca Home) for orphans of St. Joseph the Worker Parish who were previously housed in a very poor living environment. This orphanage was opened in September 2008 and currently houses 53 children with ages ranging from 5 to 23 years. FACES now coordinates a sponsorship program for these very children financing all their education fees, books and uniforms.

In 2011 FACES started collaborating with Cardinal Rugambwa Hospital in the Ukonga area in Dar Es Salaam in a project aimed at improving the capacity of this medical establishment. To date FACES has funded the purchase of an ECG machine and other medical equipment, provided medical training in non-communicable diseases and other areas and contributed to the installation and implementation of a computerised medical records system. Furthermore thanks to the funds obtained from the ODA in 2015, FACES were able to purchase and install and 30kVA generator, purchase adult and neonatal resuscitation trolleys and conduct an accrediated Immediate Life Support Course for hospital staff.
